Here’s the thing. Everything here is my opinion, unless I someday have guest posters or if I reprint something someone else wrote. I have strong opinions, which I believe I express fairly well. You may disagree, either with the opinion or with the way I express it. That’s entirely fair. But don’t waste time worrying about it–just pull up your pants and move on, ok?
Comment all you like. No, really. I’d love to see more comments. Just, do me a favor and remember this:
Wheaton’s Law is in effect.
Wheaton’s Law is, to quote it in it’s entirety: Don’t be a dick. This is the prime rule. Don’t be a jerk to me, or to other commenters. If you disagree with me or with another commenter, respond politely and using reason, if possible. Ad hominem attacks are not ok.
Comments are your words, but they do not belong to you. This is my site.
That means, to be blunt, that I reserve the right to edit posts on this blog at any time and for any reason. This is my space; my rules apply. In practice, 90% of the time comments that deserve moderation will simply be deleted. Other tactics will be used if warranted. Your comment is more likely to be edited, moderated or deleted if it contains personal attacks on another person, racist, sexist, homophobic, or just general asshattery, is entirely unrelated to the post you’re replying to, violates laws, or is so badly written that it bothers me. I’m an English teacher, folks. Bad grammar is death.
If this rule bothers you, by all means, go post somewhere else. But before you go, remember that not violating Wheaton’s Law means I’ll never feel even tempted to edit or delete your posts.
